TYPES OF CUT

It's NOT JUST CUT It's High Precision CUT

NO. 01

Angles are planned before the first facet meets the lap. Light enters, turns, and returns to the eye — brilliance by design, never by chance.

CUSHION

A soft square outline with rounded corners that gathers colour in the heart of the stone.

Every stone is cut by hand, with facet angles chosen for that stone alone. That is why even a classic cut from our atelier looks different from a mass-produced stone — and is ready for High Jewellery or a remarkable gemstone collection.

FROM ROUGH TO RADIANCE.

  1. 01
TABLEThe largest facet, on top of the stone — the window into its interior.
  2. 02
CROWNThe upper part above the girdle; its facets split light into fire.
  3. 03
GIRDLEThe widest edge, dividing crown from pavilion — this is where the setting holds the stone.
  4. 04
PAVILIONThe lower part of the stone; its angles reflect light back to the eye.
  5. 05
CULETThe point of the pavilion — a sharp tip or a tiny facet that protects it from chipping.

SELECTION

Only top-grade rough, examined for colour, clarity and the cut it can carry.

02

DESIGN

Each stone is mapped for light return and proportion — never cut for weight alone.

03

FACETING

Facet by facet on the lap, every meet point held to tight tolerances.

04

POLISH

A mirror polish, then inspection under magnification before the stone is released.

ATELIER

YOUR STONE. YOUR CUT.

Bring us your rough, or let us source it. We design the cut around the material and its setting — for private clients, jewellery designers and houses.

  • We design the cut around your stone — or around rough we source for you. Before any material is removed you receive a cutting plan with the shape, proportions and expected weight, and approve it before work begins.

  • For earrings, rings and parures we cut stones matched in colour, size and proportion, so they read as one. We work to your drawing and setting dimensions — from a single pair to a complete suite.

  • Chipped, worn or poorly proportioned stones regain their light. We assess each stone, show you the weight it will lose and the brilliance it will gain, then recut or repolish it.
